Commercial Door Toronto

I built and run the brand, websites, Google Ads and email for a GTA commercial door supplier, and I'm adding a quote flow so leads no longer depend on a phone call.

Role
Brand, websites, Google Ads, email and IT, end to end
The gap
Paid search drove visits, but the site could only capture a lead by phone
The bet
A quote flow built around what a door supplier needs to price a job
Proof
Valuation from about $100K to $12M in three years · 4 sites · every Google Ads campaign
Commercial Door Toronto homepage, with the headline "Commercial Doors for Toronto Businesses", a free-quote button and photos of steel doors and hardware

Commercial Door Toronto supplies commercial doors across the Greater Toronto Area. Over three years its valuation grew from about $100K to $12M. In that time I led the brand, digital marketing, Google Ads, communications and market analysis. I also support the sales reps in closing deals, with competitor analysis, battlecard-style sales documents and CRM upkeep.

A review of the ads account showed the leak. All 23 conversions in 30 days were phone calls, because the site had no other way to capture a lead. All three campaigns were also limited by budget, so more spend would only have bought more of the same. I’m rebuilding the site in Next.js with two ways to ask for a quote: a short request, or a 12-step door builder. The builder shows customers how to pick the fire rating, size, frame and handing. Tracking counts a lead only once the request has arrived.

Decision log

  1. Obvious move
Add budget to the campaigns, or drop a generic contact form on the site.
  2. The bet
Ask for what the supplier needs to price a door, so each request arrives ready to quote.
